1. Who We Are and Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Univer International FZ LLC (“Univer”, “we”, “us”, “our”), operator of Stream Student, collects and uses personal information through its website, learning platform, school accounts, tutor services and related learning features. It applies to students, parents, teachers, tutors, school representatives and other users. Where a school determines how student information is used in its own educational program, that school may also have responsibilities as a separate controller, and relevant agreements will govern how we process data on its behalf.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on the feature you use, we may collect: (a) account and contact data such as name, email, phone number, age or age bracket, country and login credentials; (b) school, class, grade or educator affiliations; (c) learning preferences, course enrollment, progress, assignment submissions, practice results, certificates and tutor bookings; (d) messages, feedback, help requests and content you choose to submit; (e) payment status, transaction references and billing details, while payment card data may be handled directly by payment service providers; (f) technical data such as IP address, browser, device information, language, approximate location, cookies and usage logs; and (g) age-verification or parent/guardian consent records when required. We request only the data reasonably needed for the relevant service.
3. Why We Use Information
We use data to create and maintain accounts; provide courses, AI learning support, tutor bookings, livestreams and school tools; personalize appropriate educational experiences; track learner progress and make progress visible to authorized students, guardians and educators; manage payments and provide support; protect against fraud and misuse; respond to safeguarding concerns; meet legal obligations; and analyze service performance. Marketing communications are sent only where permitted, with appropriate consent or another lawful basis and an opt-out mechanism. We do not use children's personal data for targeted advertising.
4. Legal Grounds
Depending on the context and applicable law, processing may be based on providing the service you request, compliance with legal obligations, legitimate interests where permitted and appropriately balanced, or valid consent. Special safeguards and parental or guardian consent apply where legally required for children's data. Where consent is the basis, it may be withdrawn through the contact channel below, without affecting processing lawfully completed before withdrawal.
5. Children's Privacy and Parental Controls
Stream Student is designed to support learners, including school-aged students, so child safety is a priority. We apply age-appropriate restrictions and privacy-protective defaults and seek verifiable parental or guardian consent where required by law. For children under 13, collection or use of personal information will occur only when the specific legal conditions and safeguards for that age group are satisfied. We do not knowingly sell children's personal data or use it for behavioral or targeted advertising. Parents or guardians can request information about their child's data, correction or deletion where applicable, and withdraw consent using the contact details below. We may require identity and authority verification before acting. Some educational records managed by a school may need to be requested from that school.
6. Schools, Teachers and Guardians
An authorized school may see learner identity, class membership, assigned activities, submitted work, attendance and performance information to operate its education program. Authorized tutors may access only information needed to deliver or assess booked services. Parents and guardians may receive access to age-appropriate account and progress information when authorized. Schools and educators must use student data only for legitimate educational purposes and protect access credentials.
7. AI Features and Learning Data
Where AI-supported tutoring, content generation or learning feedback is used, prompts, relevant learning context and outputs may be processed by vetted technology providers to deliver the functionality. Do not enter unnecessary sensitive information in prompts. We aim to limit identifying data shared with AI providers and apply contractual controls where applicable. Student prompts or submissions will not be used to train third-party general-purpose AI models without an appropriate lawful basis, required consent and clear disclosure. Any use for such training must be separately assessed and communicated before it occurs. AI-generated output should be checked by users and educators.
9. International Processing
Some suppliers or educational participants may operate outside the United Arab Emirates. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we will assess applicable data-protection requirements and use lawful transfer mechanisms and appropriate contractual, organizational and security measures. Contact us for further information about relevant arrangements.
11. How Long We Keep Data
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to supply services, maintain educational records under applicable agreements, resolve disputes, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations. Retention periods differ by record type and will be documented in an internal retention schedule. When data is no longer required, we delete, anonymize or securely archive it as appropriate. We may need to retain limited records after account closure where law or legitimate claims require it.
12. Security and Incident Response
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of data, including access controls, security monitoring and service-provider oversight. No internet service is completely risk-free. If a personal-data incident occurs, we will investigate and notify affected individuals or regulators where required by applicable law. Users should secure their passwords and report suspected unauthorized access promptly.
13. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Subject to applicable law and verification, you may ask to access, correct, delete or restrict personal data, object to certain uses, withdraw consent, or request data portability where available. You may opt out of promotional messages through the unsubscribe option or by contacting us. We will respond in accordance with applicable legal deadlines and may explain if a request is limited by a lawful exception. Parents or authorized guardians may make applicable requests on behalf of children.
14. Third-Party Services
External services accessed through links, embedded media, tutor tools or partner systems may process information under their own privacy policies. Review those notices before disclosing information directly to them. We seek to use appropriate providers but do not control independently operated external websites.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Policy to reflect new features, vendors, school arrangements or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date will change, and we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where legally necessary, especially for material changes affecting children.
